All 5 ING Invites Used

January 18th, 2007 at 10:20 am

When I got up today I had 2 emails telling me that my last 2 ING invites had been used so I now have $25 more in my Missisippi trip account than I had at the beginning of the week. Now I just need to send Jeffrey his $25 when I find out how.

When DH gets paid I'll send the matching $25 to my challenge account.

Challenge Addition & More ING Bonuses

January 17th, 2007 at 11:02 pm

I added $9.52 to my challenge account today that I saved while getting groceries. That brings my total Challenge to $98.08.

I used coupons (which I normally don't use) and also signed up for a Top's Bonus Card which allowed me to save money on the tea that I like to buy.

I've also had 2 more of my ING invites used so $20 has been added to my ING account. I decided that I'll match the $25 I'll have made when all 5 are used and put that towards my challenge money also.

Making Easy Money

January 15th, 2007 at 11:01 pm

When I logged in to the Saving Advice forum this morning I spotted a post from Jeffrey asking for more ING links. I promptly went to my account and sent them off and within a few hours I got an email that I had earned an extra $10 from the referral. Now half will go to Jeffrey, but that $5 was the easiest money I've ever earned in my life! This is my birthday trip account so that makes it even better!

I added $9 to my challenge money today. My mother returned a sweater that she'd gotten me for Christmas and gave me the cash instead so I added it to the challenge money. Total in the challenge fund is now $88.56.

$25 Amazon Certificate

December 8th, 2006 at 12:53 pm

I got a $25 Amazon certificate in the mail yesterday. My Chase card (that I just paid off) is an Amazon Awards card and since I charged all the Christmas gifts to it I wracked up enough points to get the certificate. I had promised the next one to DH so he gets to do some shopping.

Opened an ING Account Thanks to Ima!

December 5th, 2006 at 05:40 pm

Thank you so much, Julie! The ING invite arrived today and I opened my account. There was no minimum required so I just matched the free $25. It's a start.

I just love the ING site. Orange is my favorite color so it's a very attractive site to me. LOL!

I let the invite gather no dust. From the time I received it until the account was opened was less than 10 minutes. :-)

Money in the Mail!!!

October 19th, 2006 at 08:22 pm

Woo hoo!!! Got home today from work and found a check in the mail! Turns out that when we traded in our van, $11.08 extra was paid so they sent it back to us. Not a windfall, but hey, I'll take it.

What to do with a Raise?

October 18th, 2006 at 11:33 am

At the beginning of the year I'll be getting a cost of living raise plus a merit raise. It is going to amount to $38.67 more each paycheck (bi-weekly).

I've been debating what to do with this raise. I would love to apply it all to debt, but I'm thinking that I really should put it towards my clothing category since it is notoriously underfunded and hence, clothing expense tends to go on the credit card.

Right now it seems to make more sense to me to get my budget categories to a reasonable amount so that CC spending is limited and/or halted altogether.

I have a couple of months to mull this over and make a decision, but I'm really leaning toward more for clothing.
