Another $20 Challenge Idea

December 5th, 2006 at 11:41 am

Since I started the $20 challenge I have been trying to think of other ways to add to it. So far I am:

- paying myself $5 every time I do a book delivery and take lunch with me instead of buying
- adding the money we get from taking back returnable pop bottles

And now I've decided that since I'm getting more into on-line bill paying that I'll add the money that I save on postage. Not a lot, but it will add up eventually. I think I'll add it up for the month and then make the deposit rather than make a few 39 cent transfers.

All good ideas. I bring back the soda bottles too. I have been doing that ever since the return of the .05 deposit. I never tried to do the electronic bill pay. I'm a little afraid to try it.

That is a good idea. I am a little afraid to try on line bill pay too.

I've always wondered how having the computer really saves me and that includes postage, auto gas going back and forth to the bank, etc. I once was trying to see if having the newspaper really paid off, so I started giving myself back the coupon money and setting it to the side. Believe it or not, I actually bought a stove that way.
