$52.99 on Norton Anti-virus subscription
I just hate spending the money each year on the Norton anti-virus subscription. It slows my computer down and seems like any time I have a problem, it's connected to that. But I haven't heard of a good alternative that also includes parental control measures to block websites for kids. Any ideas out there?

For the antivirus, I've been using a free one for quite a while called AVG. I'd recommend it, but they've merged into another company and are forcing everyone to switch to a new version with added features in January. I don't know if it will be as easy to use. I've heard Avast is fine, too. (Also free.) If you go to www.download.com you can research and find out all the free ones that will work with your version of Windows, and read reviews. A free one can be just fine. I used to have McAfee and when I did get a worm, it did me no good at all. I had to read up on the problem myself and fix it manually. After that, I figured a free one couldn't be any worse than McAfee!
