$1.25

December 3rd, 2006 at 10:04 pm

That's how much I got for returning pop bottles. So that money will be added to my $20 challenge total since it's money that I would not normally have coming in. Not much, but I'll take it!

Do they still have bottle deposit? Gosh I remember collecting bottles as a kid to get some money.

Some states do. We live in PA and they don't but NY does and we are only 4 miles from the border, so we don't have to pay the 5 cent deposit if we buy it here, but can take them to NY and still get the 5 cents!

I plan to do just the same when I'm finished with my exams. I've got quite a few bottles for returning. Due to bad water situation in my city, I was forced to buy large jugs of water where the jugs are $10 each worth of deposit! I paid with MasterCard, so I wonder if I'll get cash back for the returns.
