I Give Up!

November 7th, 2006 at 01:03 am

On the change box, that is.

I've been ever so carefully adding up my savings as I've been adding to it only to find that DH and the kids are taking from it without my knowledge to buy treats at the convenience store 1 block over!

Oh well...guess they have to get dessert one way or another since I hardly ever bake anymore!

Maybe I'll just have to move the treasure to a different spot?! Hmmm...where is a good hiding place?

I agree with Lux heads would be rolling. My nephew did that to me and then he was MIA. I was collecting the quarters and he cleaned me out completely, if I could have gotten my hands on him

Do something funny, like keep the change in a piggy bank where you have to shake the coins out of some hole. Put some "surprises" inside as well- fake bugs or noisy, jangling bells- and you'll catch them red handed =)

A funny story--my mother found out my father was taking money from her "mad" money stash (he found out where she had it). Later on, she found his stash. So every time she found he had taken money from her stash, she went and took money back from his. He never noticed his was missing! No one ever said anything to each other, as far as I know, until much later. We still laugh about it, but you have to wonder about your parents stealing from each other! My mother is so careful with money that I knew she wasn't forgetting she used it and knowing my dad, he probably did take the money and forgot about it.

DH and the kids, eh? Its one thing if its just the kids, but its a whole 'nother thing if DH is involved. Sounds like this should be a family meeting.

yeah, there would be someone hurting... hehe. I tell BF to keep his paws of my pennies! He has his own stash of change though. We always end up trading when it comes time to roll it all... hehe.

Maybe you could keep your change in a sock in your sock drawer. Most kids and DH's don't know how to put away laundry so it ought to be safe!

Well, I moved the change box so that hopefully no one else will see it.

In defense of DH he didn't know that I was saving the change. He just thought I didn't want to carry it around in my purse. :-) Kids, on the other hand know better!
