Say What?

May 16th, 2008 at 06:36 pm

I got an email yesterday from Zander Insurance saying that they needed the name, address and phone number of the doctor that ordered my kidney scan back in 2006 and the reason why I was diagnosed with renal failure. Huh??? First I've heard of that!

I sent an email back giving them the information about the doctor and explained, again, that I had the kidney scan to rule out problems with my kidneys when I was sick. I also explained, again, that the problem turned out to be a reaction to the blood pressure drug Benicar and that since I've stopped taking it and have been taking Lisinopril instead, the problem has gone away. For Pete's sake...

Did you have an attempt to steal your ID lately?

No. This is all from the medical problems I had at the end of 2006. They just don't seem to want to believe that it was something as simple as a reaction to a drug. They seem to want to put me at death's door instead.

Can you get some kind of letter from your doctor to you that can document your conditions? Another thing that can happen is someone inputting a wrong computer code and of course it gets put accidentally into your records. I once had that with my license. Instead of inputting my car insurance information, another code was put in that made my license suspended. Make sure that you check it out because it will continually become a problem not only with life insurance but with your health insurance as well and especially if you would want to or have to change your insurance.
